Preparing content for a new website
Websites rarely get delayed by programming. They get delayed because everyone waits weeks for copy, photos and a price list. If you have them together before you start, you save time and money. And they don't have to be perfect.
In short
- First get clear on who the site is for and what people should do there.
- Then gather your services, prices, contacts and photos.
- Bullet points are enough for the copy.
Three questions to start with
Who are your customers and what are they looking for? What should someone do on your site: call, write, book, buy? And which websites do you like, even from a completely different field?
A few sentences per answer is enough. They save more time than anything else on this list.
What to put together
- Logo, ideally as SVG or PDF.
- Services or products with a short description and price, or a "from" price.
- Contact details: phone, email, address, opening hours, company ID.
- Photos of people, premises and your work. Phone photos in good light beat someone else's stock photos.
- References: reviews, client logos, examples.
- Logins for the domain, the old site and email.
You don't have to write the copy. Just jot down in bullet points what you do, how you're different and what customers keep asking. We'll turn that into copy (with the help of AI, more here) and you just approve it.
Got it together? Send it to us and we'll prepare a proposal.
Frequently asked questions
I don't have professional photos. Is that a problem?
No. Start with phone photos in good light. A photo shoot is worth it for the home page, and use stock photos sparingly.
Do I need finished copy?
No. Bullet points are enough. We'll write the copy from them and you approve it.
Why do you want access to my domain?
So the new site can go live at your address. The domain stays yours.
Want a new website, or just to test an idea?
Tell us what you need. You start in the tens of thousands of crowns, not hundreds, and you know the price upfront.
